Overview

Fountain Tire is looking for an Accounting Assistant with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join our Finance team (Mine Service, Tire Country, and National Accounts) at our South Edmonton Head Office! 

 

This is a full-time term position with an expected duration of November 24, 2025, until June 30, 2026

Specifically, the Accounting Assistant will:

  • Provide guidance on accounting transactions, processes, and resolve related queries.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Complete month-end processes by specified deadlines, including checklist items.
  • Analyze financial data, report significant issues to the Accounting Manager, and suggest resolutions.
  • Support annual budget process, assist with inventory counts, and provide audit support.
  • Manage national account invoicing, billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate sub-ledger balances.

What does it take to succeed?

  • College Diploma with a major in Accounting and at least one year of Accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) software and demonstrated ability to accurately enter data
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with various levels within an organization; this includes excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in order to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands within tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment as well as individually.
